Converting the Landry sofa into a sleeper is “never a struggle” thanks to its intuitive design, according to our testers. Article provides assembly and placement, making initial setup a breeze, too. Two adults were able to sleep comfortably on the “thick and supportive” mattress, and although one tester noted that the mattress sagged in the middle, none reported back pain.

We also concede that the pick may not be optimal for tall users due to its short yet sturdy pull-out frame. Overall, we found the sleeper sofa to be comfortable, durable, and easy to use.

You “really cannot do any better” than this sofa bed for the price, our tester determined. It comes preassembled, so all you have to do is screw on the sofa’s legs, which takes just a matter of minutes. Then, when you’re ready to transform it into a bed, simply pull the two cloth handles and watch the bed “pop right out.” 

Our tester noted that it was very easy to return the sleeper back to a sofa, too. We also found it durable — holding up with little to no sign of wear and tear in a home with children and pets — and being quite comfortable as a couch. However, the sofa bed itself is too firm and was less comfortable to sleep on than some of the sleeper sofas we tried.

This well-rounded sleeper sofa is equally as comfortable as it is practical, according to our tester, who uses the pick as a primary couch for a family of four. With Pottery Barn’s White Glove delivery service, you won’t have to lift a finger unboxing or putting together your new sofa. The couch is easy to convert into a sofa bed, and our tester found that the process takes around three minutes. 

The pick’s memory foam mattress is designed for comfort, and we found it to be “supportive enough for a 300-pound person with back issues.” Its material also holds up well to wear and tear, and its slipcover can be removed and washed for easy stain removal and maintenance.

If you have the space, this sectional-style sleeper is great for larger families or those who want a couch that allows them to stretch out. It has a storage compartment that’s ideal for storing blankets, sheets, and pillows. With large, fluffy cushions and additional pillows included, the sofa is “super plush,” according to our tester, who compared the pick to a cloud couch. 

The sleeper sofa converts in less than a minute, and it’s smooth and easy to use. Our tester noted that their guests raved about how comfortable the bed is, which they dubbed a huge plus. However, over time, the couch cushions slouch and relax a little, which may not be ideal for everyone.

Joybird Briar Sleeper Sofa

If you have a revolving door of overnight guests but not a lot of space to spare, this Joybird Briar sofa is a great pick. Converting it from a sofa to a bed takes a matter of seconds if you don’t take into account time spent putting fresh sheets on the mattress, and our tester found it to be “extremely comfortable” — awarding the bed a perfect score of five in the comfort category. However, the couch itself is on the firm side and has limited seating, comfortably accommodating just two to three people. 

Another bonus of this sleeper sofa is its durability. Our pet parent tester noted that dirt from their dog’s paws wiped right off the sofa, and there are no noticeable signs of wear.

“This is a pretty pricey sectional, but it’s large, and since it’s a sleeper sectional, I actually think the value is spot on,” our tester shared of the priciest sofa on our list. We were blown away by the quality and durability as it has held up well in a house with small children and pets without pilling, staining, or creaking. The couch has firm cushions, which seat five to six people comfortably. The bed is fitted with a memory foam mattress that is on the softer side, but it’s not an ideal length if you’re tall.
