CIFF Shanghai 2024 Concludes, Highlighting Innovation and Premium Design in Chinese Furniture Market

The 54th China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) Shanghai 2024, held in September, emphasized
high-end furniture and interior design, serving as a prominent venue for both established brands and emerging
designers in China’s furniture market. The fair showcased a wide array of exhibitions and events aimed at
fostering innovation and commercial opportunities within the design industry.

The Design Eden Contemporary Design Trade Fair, held across 50,000 square meters in Halls 4.1 and 5.1, featured over
40 leading design brands under the theme “Colorful Life.” This exhibition highlighted current trends in home design,
merging creativity with commercial appeal to provide an immersive experience for visitors.

Throughout the fair, fifteen design-focused events provided valuable insights, networking, and business
opportunities for professionals.

Since 2015, the East Design Show at CIFF Shanghai has served as a significant
platform for young designers. This year’s show, themed “Ieleness,” encouraged a relaxed and playful exploration
of design, emphasizing elements aimed at creating a sense of ease.

The Grand View Tea Ceremony exhibition celebrated “Zen Life,” combining traditional Eastern aesthetics with
contemporary design. Located in Hongqiao, it showcased tea companies, utensils, and spaces inspired by Song Dynasty
markets, offering attendees an immersive experience in Zen culture and tea rituals.

The Design Dream Show (DDS), in collaboration with “Listen to Lin” We-Media and twelve brands, presented the “Dream
Garden” themed space titled “A Life of Perfection,” adorned with 170,000 pink daisy grasses. This exhibit blended
various brands to create a unique environment celebrating the richness of life and individual brand values.

Curated by Liu Chunyi, the Siza Theme Exhibition paid tribute to architect Álvaro Siza, displaying rare
sketches, models, and product designs that reflect his legacy. The exhibition offered visitors a perspective on
Siza’s influential works, showcasing pieces that have had a lasting impact on architecture.

The Design Gravity Show, themed “Gravity,” brought together designers and brands to explore the concept of attraction
in design. The event featured co-curated concepts and demonstrations, creating a collaborative environment focused on
innovation and quality.

The Limited IN exhibition presented premium furniture brands through displays of high-end craftsmanship, allowing
domestic and international designers to showcase unique design philosophies and refined lifestyle concepts for
enthusiasts and industry professionals.

The COOMO & CIFF International Soft Furnishings Area introduced mid-to-high-end brands such as Villeroy &
Boch, Limonta, Brabantia, and Riedel. This exhibit presented premium textile craftsmanship and imported fabrics,
creating a world-class home experience center for attendees.

The Italian Lounge, conceived by Edimotion and designed by the Italian Association of Professional Interior Designers
(AIPI), highlighted Italian lifestyle aesthetics. It provided a space dedicated to promoting Italian design in China,
supporting collaboration opportunities between the two countries.

The Shanghai Office Life Theme Pavilion 2024, titled “Design·Cloud Habitat,” was inspired by traditional
Chinese wooden architecture, incorporating elements like flying eaves and vertical columns. The pavilion focused on
modern office design, encouraging social interaction and productivity through carefully designed layouts, furniture,
and color schemes.

The CIFF Selected Show offered a platform for brands to engage with industry leaders, gain visibility, and access
insights on market trends and innovations, fostering collaboration among global trend experts and professionals in the
