ZEELAND, Mich. — Design Within Reach, part of Top 100 MillerKnoll, will celebrate the grand opening of its newest showroom in Palm Springs, Calif., in time for the desert locale’s famed Modernism Week.

Located at 414 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Suite S, in The Shops at Thompson Palm Springs, the 6,200-square-foot DWR sits at the front of the newly opened property, serving as a gateway to the city’s downtown Design District.

“We are continually exploring ways to expand and evolve the DWR footprint, with additional stores on the horizon for 2025,” said Debbie Propst, president of Global Retail for MillerKnoll. “Palm Springs is a natural location for our offering, and we’re looking forward to being able to better serve the community with this stunning new space.

“From the intentional product selection which beautifully reflects the region, to our Design Concierge program’s incredible services and expertise, such as mood board development, site visits and 3D renderings, DWR Palm Springs is ready to support and inspire customers — whether they are looking to furnish one corner, a whole home or small business.”

The store’s product assortment spans furnishings for living spaces, outdoor, dining spaces, bedroom and workspaces — from seating from Fritz Hansen, Herman Miller’s Thin Edge pieces designed by George Nelson and colorful storage from USM Haller, to contemporary designs such as Knoll’s Perron Pillo sofa designed by Willo Peron, limited-edition artwork from photographer Adrian Gaut and new introductions from Australian-based Ellison Studios.

“Palm Springs has been well-established as a hub of modern design for decades,” said Omar Nobil, vice president of product design and brand creative at DWR. “Creating this space has given us the opportunity to take inspiration from and pay homage to the distinct style of Palm Springs, as well as the opportunity to present visitors with a retail experience that will strengthen their understanding of the region.

“Our intention with DWR’s continued evolution is to create a space that fosters a sense of community and serves as a destination for local design enthusiasts,” he said.

The store will host a grand opening party on Friday, Feb. 14, and other activities throughout the weekend.
