Before I head out for the evening, I couldn’t help but share this outdoor bar cart (available at Wayfair), AKA the answer to my hosting dreams. One of the hardest parts of entertaining outside is the constant traveling (with food and drinks) between the kitchen and the patio, but this cart makes the process so much more seamless. It features a storage compartment and spice rack, keeping all my essentials tidy and within reach, without needing to go back inside the house.
To make this piece even more vibrant, I imagine arranging these fun cocktail glasses from Anthropologie on the bottom shelf. They inject just the right amount of color against the cart’s versatile gray backdrop. The perfect pairing.
My colleague (and go-to style aficionado) Charlotte will scout more unmissable furniture deals first thing tomorrow. Be sure to check back then, but I hope you enjoy revisiting my top picks in the meantime.
There’s something about a green striped pattern that feels so effortlessly chic. I often associate this print with a refined ‘old money’ style, evoking a sense of heritage and timeless elegance often associated with traditional wealth. The Lydia Stripe Hexagon Pouf (available at Target) brings this same aura outside.
Designed by the revered Shea McGee, it features an iron frame with green piping and an all-over striped pattern that will seamlessly complement your existing patio decor, whether you’re a maximalist or not. I adore how the rich greens will pair alongside any of your patio planting. It’s the perfect footstool, side table, or extra guest set. Whatever you need from this pouf, it will deliver in style.
As a celebrity style editor, I often find myself noting similarities between the world’s most beloved figures, and for summer 2025, rattan is a uniting thread.
We recently reported on how Brooke Shields and Goldie Hawn have introduced wicker into their yards, one with a rope swing and the other via a beautiful accent chair. This Wicker Outdoor Loveseat (available at Amazon) is the perfect way to follow suit without having to spend thousands.
Rattan and wicker pieces are often (rightly) associated with the early 1960s, when they became a popular feature of the modern American home. However, as celebrities have forecast, these pieces are set to be more popular than ever before. This wicker loveseat is your ticket to get involved.
It’s not every day that I see a furnishing that stops me in my scrolling tracks, but this was the case with McGee & Co’s Alberta Lounge Chair. This piece achieves what is seemingly impossible: It feels vintage yet ultra contemporary, deserving a place in even the most minimalist of living rooms.
Beyond its striking silhouette, I could write for hours about how it’s crafted with a blend of mixed materials. Each chair features a honey oak-finished frame and textured back woven with seagrass, bringing the organic modern design aesthetic to life. It embodies everything I adore about Studio McGee’s style, looking ultra-chic without being inaccessible. While it’s an investment, I expect it will age beautifully with time.
As we look to the summer months, a refined, East Hampton-style aesthetic is on everybody’s minds. While we can’t all enjoy this coastal zipcode (unfortunately), we can replicate its charm on any porch or patio with the right furniture.
This set of four Adirondack chairs (available at Wayfair) is one of the simplest ways to get the look. They’re available in 14 colors, but the navy (seen in the photo) feels most suited to that classic East Hampton look. To tie everything together, I would pair them with cream outdoor pillows (like this set, also from Wayfair). It’s a result that will feel utterly timeless, year after year.
Good afternoon! I’m Megan Slack, the Head of Celebrity Style at Homes & Gardens. Despite my deep focus on celebrity products, I’ve got to know all about the chicest design brands (and the sites with the most unmissable deals) throughout my years working here. I’m delighted to take the baton from Charlotte for a few hours and guide you through some early Memorial Day furniture deals.
First up is one of my favorite pieces: The iconic Drew Chair (available at Walmart), designed by Drew Barrymore. Last April, I interviewed Drew, who told me that this chair was the first thing she designed for her wider homeware collection.
‘The Drew Chair [is] a great size for a house or an apartment. It can go in a bedroom, a reading nook, or we’ve seen some people buy two to add to their living room seating,’ she told me. ‘The white matches everything, and the sage green is a great pop of color that is still subtle. It’s such a great chair, and we have more colors on the way!’
Before I sign off until tomorrow and hand you over to my colleague, Megan, I wanted to leave you with a bit of sales shopping advice. As editors with years of experience (combined, we must be up in the decades) covering deals, we’re best placed to give you tips on Memorial Day shopping.

First and foremost, I want you to approach sales shopping with a little caution, as the last thing we want to encourage is a spontaneous purchase that you’ll later live to regret. That’s why every product we share here has either been personally tested or we have combed through endless reviews and designer recommendations to make sure we only show you the best of the best.
Secondly, it is important to be aware of the rising tariffs that could affect all commerce, including furniture prices, in the near future. Which means, Memorial Day is actually one of the best times to shop – why? I’ll let the team explain:
‘With incoming tariff rises affecting almost every part of US commerce, Memorial Day may be the last chance to buy goods at such low prices,’ advices our Home Tech Editor, Dan Fauzi. ‘As the materials imported into the US are also becoming more expensive, even a simple set of furniture could be much more expensive come next year. Right now, US retailers still have their stock from before the tariff hikes, so if you’re looking for a furniture deal, now’s your chance.’
‘Even though the Chinese tariff looks to already have been reduced from 145% to 30%, the conversation has created a fair bit of uncertainty for the year ahead. Even brands that do not build their products in China are reviewing their production processes, as few brands have products that are completely made or sourced in the USA,’ adds Lindsey Davis, our Content Director for Lifestyle eCommerce. ‘So, how does this impact shoppers? Well, we can’t be sure what prices will look like as the year progresses and stock levels change, and we would recommend buying now if you see something you love, rather than waiting for the most anticipated sales like Black Friday.’
‘If you are looking to make a big investment purchase on furniture – especially metal pieces often made from imported materials, why wait? We are flagging amazing deals, so hopefully you will see plenty of quality options within your budget,’ says Lindsey.
For a really luxe pick, the Ripple Nightstand designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel for Lulu and Georgia is a real statement piece of furniture. Her pieces don’t often go on sale, so while they have 20% off sitewide, I’m making the most of browsing some of my favorite collections from Sarah and the recent Aimee Song x Lulu and Georgia collection.
If you’re a fan of Sarah’s warm, collected style, you might already be familiar with her penchant for a wavy, curved edge that has become a trademark of her collaboration. I love that this nightstand is not only finished with a gentle scalloped edge, but has a curved silhouette to help you squeeze it into tighter spots, too.
When I’m searching for the best outdoor furniture – the best brands, the best materials, the best styles, and the best deals – I struggle to find a patio furniture sectional set that has this many elements to it for under $500. Until now.
This 7-piece modular set from Walmart is available in 5 different colorways, but I love the uniqueness of this deep burgundy hue. I’d style it up with plenty of textured throw pillows like this Monterey Geo Woven Outdoor Pillow from Pottery Barn that is also discounted in the Memorial Day sales.
Sometimes it’s the little accessories that really amp up a garden makeover. Sure, there are plenty of big-ticket patio furniture deals to be snapped up, but don’t forget the small details, too.
I love this little striped ottoman by Shea’s McGee & Co.. Pattern and print are hard to come by outdoors, but this versatile piece comes clad in weather-proof fabric that is super easy to clean and maintain. You can use it as extra seating, a foot stool, or add a tray, and you’ve got a lovely new side table for your poolside cocktail and a spritz. Just add a portable lamp for when the sun goes down.
In the market for a new bed frame? Wayfair is one of the best places to buy bedroom furniture – particularly during big sale moments like Memorial Day.
Made by Joss & Main, Wayfair’s sister brand, this linen upholstered wingback bed is a timeless buy for your master suite or guest bedroom that will never go out of style. As it requires a box spring, I spoke to our sleep expert, Emilia Hitching, who recommended this Metal Box Spring with Wood Slats from Amazon.
While she hasn’t tested it personally, the reviews speak for themselves, with a 4.6 average on Amazon from more than 17,000 verified reviews. One recent reviewer says: ‘The design and thought that went into this thing are superb. Extremely easy assembly, extremely sturdy yet super light and super rigid. It even comes with an amazing little Allen wrench ratchet tool.’
If you’re looking to make the most of an overlooked corner in your garden, I love the idea of one of these oversized egg chairs.
You can currently save $300 on this one from Target, which 64% of shoppers would recommend. The reviews speak for themselves, with one shopper saying: ‘Well built chair and weight limit tested and approved! Solid. Beautiful. Comfortable. Stylish.’ Need I say more?
I recently saw designer Carley Page Summers share a sneak peek of her new condo project over on her Instagram stories, and was instantly drawn to the rattan scalloped side tables she’s used on either side of the couch. So, naturally, I did some research and found this delightful little table in Serena & Lily’s Memorial Day sale that ticks all the boxes.
Perfect for both coastal decor fans and cottagecore trend lovers, this sweet side table can be used as a nightstand, drinks table, or even for extra storage in a guest bathroom. Just imagine a few hotel-style towels rolled up in the bottom shelf and plenty of luxurious scents up top.
Good morning! Charlotte here, Style & Trends Editor at Homes & Gardens and self-confessed shopping aficionado. I’m currently in the thick of a home renovation, so this Memorial Day, I’m on a personal and professional mission to track down the absolute best furniture deals out there. Partly for you (so you don’t have to do the hard work), and partly for me – because like many of you, I’m trying to make every dollar stretch a little further, both indoors and out.
I’m kicking our LIVE page off today with all of the finds I’ve spotted from the early Memorial Day deal drops. To start us off, I’m giving a shout-out to this relaxed slipcovered sofa that is reduced by a whopping 63% off in the Wayfair sale. If you’re a fan of the Nancy Meyers aesthetic, like me, you’ll love its California casual style that looks just like the sofa in Something’s Gotta Give.
